Hi new member here

Hi I have been reading the posts here for a while and just been brave enough to join. I am 45yrs old and was diagnosed 31st December 2015 with a Spinal AVM in my neck area. I have been very symptomatic for a long time with pins and needles, numbness, headaches, balance problems and more. But had never adressed it up until summer 2015 when I was in a road traffic accident and had whiplash. My physiotherapist suggested that all my symptons were not normal and should be addressed. What followed was months of continued tests. Fast forward to November 2016. After a suspected bleed, my neurosurgeon in Glasgow explained that my AVM was too complex and would have to be sent to a different specialist in Edinburgh. Spoke to them and now they are seeking opinions from Sheffield in England. Its very scary ghat things are so complex that no one can make decisions. All i know is that the AVM has several feeders and aneurysms in it. Appointment for end of February so hopefully answers.

Hi,

Welcome to the site. It sounds to me as though they’re looking after you to the best of their ability by getting the right inputs from the right experts. Sheffield Hallamshire is a major centre for this kind of thing, so you’re in first class hands.

Very best wishes,

Richard
