What Would You Do?

I have a large inoperable AVM inside my left lateral ventricle and extends into my third ventricle, causing pressure on my Thalamas.

My neurosurgeon is Winfield Fisher at the Kirkland clinic at UAB. He said the only two options I have is to do nothing or take Truebeam radiation therapy. Surgery and embolization are out if the question.

I am 43 hears old, no history of a bleed but have neurological deficits from the AVM.

I would suggest getting a second opinion. It can only strengthen your knowledge and possibly your options, which is powerful. You can get one through many top rated hospitals around the country, but here are a few:

Barrow Institute (home of Dr. Spetzler)

John Hopkins

I wish you all the best!

I agree with Tim...It would be good to get a second opinion before you make a decision.
