Aphasia: What is it? Does it affect thinking and intelligence? How rare is it?
I believe those of us that had a brain hemorrhage have Anomic Aphasia.
Anomic Aphasia is a condition characterized by either partial or total loss of the ability to recall the names of persons or things as a result of a stroke, head injury, brain tumor, or infection.
Thanks for sharing Louisa! I’m glad to see groups like ARC (aphasia recovery connection) getting the word out. Knowledge is power! 
My understanding of aphasia is that your words get "lost" or mixed up in your head and you can't say what you're thinking & trying to say. Not a reflection in your intelligence.
Mine mainly consists of the difficulty to remember names. It is extremely annoying! I can remember some rare names - like the leaders of many foreign countries but I always forget the name of the US Vice President. Even friends and some family members are difficult to recall.
You are so right, Nicholas! It can be very frustrating when you cannot remember names.
