Thanks for the warm welcome. It was my mum that had the AVM in March this year. It was a shock to all of us but the consultant expects her to make a full recovery. She has already had another MRI and there does not appear to be any sign of the AVM left. They have to do an angiogram to confirm this. However it is her balance (and dizziness), her vision and right arm and leg that were most affected. While the vision is correcting itself she is very bothered by the dizziness and balance issues. This is unknown territory to us.
Thanks for this discussion posting, Bobby. I can understand the balance and vision problems. My husband says that at times I walk like I'm drunk even though he knows that I have had no alcohol since my AVM burst in May of 2011. I will keep you all in my prayers and you are a great son.
The good news is that the brain can heal. The bad news is that it does so SLOWLY. Please be patient with your Mum. I suspect you will see a lot of improvement in the next few months!
