Ssdi doc. vist

HI, ALL , HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING WELL AND TAKING CARE OF YOURSELVES. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE EVERYONE LAUGH. WENT TO THE SSI, DOC 2DAY WAS THERE FOR OVER 4HRS. BUT WHAT MADE ME WANT TO LAUGH IN HER FACE WAS, SHE ASKED ME WHERE DID HE CUT MY HEAD TO DO THE EMBO, SO IF HE DIDNT CUT UP WHERE DID HE GO IN? THEN WHEN I TOLD HER DURING MY EMBO. HE USE THE COIL METHOD, SHE ASKED HE DID EMBO. AND COIL, I ALMOST REALLY LOST IT THEN. SHE DIDNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT AM EMBO, WAS OR HOW IT WAS DONE. NOW HOW CAN THEY SEND U TO A DOC. THAT HAS NO CLUE WHAT’S GOING ON WITH U, AND LET THEM MAKE A DECISION ON YOUR HEALTH. SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THE SAME THING SO BE READY FOR SSI DOC. THAT DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT AN 'AVM" IS OR WHAT WE ARE DEALING WITH JUST TO GET BETTER. WHILE WE WAIT ON THEM TO DECIDE ABOUT SENDING US MONEY THAT WE HAVE WORKED ALL THESE YRS 4. GOD BLESS EVERYONE KEEP THE FAITH

Sheree YOU are WONDERFUL !
You hit it with your knowledge , reports and sense of humor .
Your preparedness was the best lesson for them .
You did good woman . You are now an educator of those who play a game they don’t know the rules to in an arena built on ignorance .
Perhaps now that you have clued them in …there is hope for better understanding on their part .
May you have the smoothest sailings .

that is crazy Sheree… there is nothing like dealing with people who are unfamiliar with your condition and what has happened to you. Thanks for letting us know though. Have a great evening and God Bless you too!

Rare moments when doctors are more clueless than patients , lmao

Hi Sheree…unbelievable, seems like they would be required to send you to a specialist in the area of the injury. No wonder it takes so long to what I have read. Let me ask, because I dont know, is the reason people sign up for SSI because they can never work again or is it for a short term thing because they are off work with no pay? We/re facing the no pay thing soon as Ron only has 2 weeks sick time left and Im sure that will be usedup with his next embo and his upcoming cranio on the 30th. After that Im on my own with all the bills and having to pay for our health insurance which is normally taken out of rons check, rons company pays for him, but only if he has time and drawing a check while off. This is all so confusing and don’t know what to expect for his ability to return to work after the cranio. Thnks for ideas, I did ee where you can sign up online for the ssi or at least get it started, as someone suggested, anyways haved a great day , Angie

Been there, done that! Hang in there Sheree, you’ll get it. It just takes too long and requires too much patience!

Angela to answer your question. Yes SS disability is a benefit you get when you are no longer able to work because of a physical or mental disability. Depending on the state you live in it could take years to finally get approval. Does Ron have short term or long term disability through his job? That type of disability insurance is totally different than SS disability. Check with him about that until you know what, if any deficits he may have after the crani. Hope that helps a little?

No, Ron does dont have any disabilty through his work

That was a crazy thing that went on yesterday, but I’m glad that you got a laugh out of it. I hope that your recovery is going well despite visiting a doctor that did not have a clue as to what you have went through and are going through.

Hugs, Leslye

And you keep the faith as well, but I think I dont have to tell you that

Take care,

Debbie

I"m so glad my surgeon did all that stuff for me! Good luck Sheree:)

Hi Sheree,
How are you doing? Did the SSI issue get resolved yet? Scarey to hear how incompetent some docs are who are granted the right to make life and death decisions. The more we educate ourselves about AVMs, the stronger we are able to push for the care we need. In doing so, we also educate others. Take care, and let me know how you are doing,
Your friend in SoCal.
