When you go for a second, third, fourth opinion regarding your AVM, please make sure you have all your medical records, MRI scans, etc. to bring with you when you go for your appointment. Not having your important information, makes your appointment very difficult for the doctor to understand how they can help you.
Good advice! Even if the scans are taken in the same building as your doctor, things get lost so often that the best way to go is to have these things in your hands, like Louisa says!
