I had an AVM in my brain treated with Stereotactic Radio Surgery in Dec 2009, I then discovered I had a reaction to the radiation in January 2011. It caused my brain to swell and I was told I had some radionecrosis, I was started on steriods to reduce the swelling, Dexamethasone was the steriod I was put on. I have now tried a few times to go off the drug and have had to put my levels back up each time. I have had MRI's which have shown that my swelling has reduced right down with only a little still there but the doctors think that I should be able to go off the steriods. I was wondering if anyone else has been on this drug and tried to wean themselves off and was it hard to do.
