I have a question regarding overradiation. My Brain AVM has been successfully treated with 3 embolizations. After the last embolization I experienced severe hair loss due to overradiation. The hair has since grown back:-). 1 1/2 years after the last embolization I now have swollen feet and ankles. Could this possibly be a late side effect of overradiation (or am I turning into a hyperchondriac)? Does anyone know what consequences other than hairloss overradiation could have?
Per various cancer site that discuss radiation treatments: Chronic side effects can occur during treatment and last for many months or years after treatment, or they can develop months to years after radiation therapy. They differ according to the area treated and the total dose of radiation therapy received.
Every site advises to speak to your doctor about what it since there are so many variables involved.
