It's almost gone!

I had a consult with my neurosurgeon in October. At that point it had been about a year and a half since my January 2010 Gamma Knife surgery.

The changes to my AVM have been significant. The AVM shrank a lot and is nearly gone. It is barely visible on the MRI at this point. My neurosurgeon said that I don't need to go back to see him for a full year. At that point the AVM should be obliterated. I'll have a final angiogram to confirm it.

If you have an AVM that's eligible for Gamma Knife, then I strongly recommend it!

Of course, it's not that I still don't have lingering problems. I keep having issues with migraines. I found some really great migraine specialists at the Cleveland Clinic who are helping me with holistic options, but I'm also taking Topamax. It's kind of a tough drug to be on, but it works. The migraines are gone. I've just lost a bit of ambition in my job search.

But, all is looking up as far as the AVM is concerned. I hope all of you are doing well and that you have a great holiday season.
