I was going through my blog posts last night, and reblogged onto my AVM Tumblr a few songs that are a lot more meaningful now, having gone through the experiences of becoming an AVM survivor, than they used to be.
Before, they were just "pretty songs" with "deep meanings," or "nice words."
Now, these songs speak to me so much more.
If anyone is interested for some nice music (more are sure to come as I dig them up), I have a tag for music that I felt were important/spoke to me and my experiences: http://xsaudade.tumblr.com/music
Some there at the moment:
- I Hope You Dance - Lee Ann Womack - Only Human - K
- Graduation (Friends Forever) - Vitamin C (All of my grade mates are graduating this semester, so it was relevant. Still can't shake off the feeling of being "left behind," but hey- what's another year when I have the rest of my life ahead of me now!)
- You Raise Me Up - Lena Park
If any of you have any suggestions on good inspirational/meaningful music that you like or "speaks" to you, let me know! I'd love to add to my collection of soothing music.
I have that "I hope you dance" on a "recovery" playlist, as well - I find that it's sad, but very inspiring. Kelly Clarkston's "Stronger" also gives me a jolt.
Thank you, Julie! It was very weird to me when I found out some of the songs (like You Raise Me Up) were very religious, but I felt the message came through, and I liked the soothingness of it. It didn't really have to be "God" that was giving me a helping hand or nudging me on- it was the people around me, giving me the same kind of support.
I will most definitely check them out! Thank you!
