Help me

I am Krishantha from Sri Lanka.
Doctors found my wife has an AVM just four days after her first child birth. Then they did a surgery to clip the AVM. Now she is unconsious. She can breath herself but can’t recognise any. Sometimes she opens her eyes and mouth.

Please let me know is there any way to recover her.

recivery is going to take unfortunatly there is no miracle recovery tricks, believe me or we all would have tried them…take care…and give your wife sometime to fully wake…ist childbirth and now avm surgery…i wish you both the very best try to stay stong and keep us posted on your wifes recovery…you are in my prayers

I agree that recovery may be very difficult, but please know that many have recovered after being a long coma - though it may require years of rehabilitation. This person, a spokesperson for strokes, spent 8 difficult years recovering, but now leads a completely normal life. She wrote a book and now speaks to thousands about her experience. http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/jill_bolte_taylor_s_powerful_str…. Do not despair. Stay strong and keep us posted. We’re here for you.

I will pray dor your wife’s full recovery Krishantha. In the meantime, congratulations on the birrrrth of your first child. I am so sorry that such a joyous occasion has been marred by such danger to your wife. I will continue to pray for her until she is home taking care of your baby!

Hello Krishantha, I’m Kerstin from the Netherlands.
I’m so sorry to hear about your wife and yourself not being able to enjoy the new baby!
How long ago did all this happen?
I’m sure the doctors are doing all they can at this time to aid her recovery, are there good specialists in Sri Lanka?
I really really hope she will recover and wake up soon… maybe her brain just needs some time to recover from the trauma.
Others on this site will probably be able to point you in the right direction for more information! I wish you and your family the best of luck for the future and hope all will be good,

Kerstin

Hi Kerstin.
She deliverd the baby on 20th Oct. then we came home on 21st oct. She didn’t have any problem. But on 24th oct she had a pit. It was about 5min. So we went to the hospital again and doctors did a MRI scan on the same day. They found the AVM and asked to do the surgery immediatly to clip the AVM. Surgery was done on 26th oct.
Now she is in the word. Her diagest system, and urine system are working properly. Only thing is her consious level is not good.
I will keep you posted.

Hi Ben.

She is improving day by day. Now she can localize a pain. She move her right hand when we applied a pressure. When we try to open her eyes and mouth she try to close them. Till she is not responsing to verbal commands.
