Hi,
I had just the opposite. The prism helped me. I never wore glasses before but for about 5 years after
my ruptures and surgery I had to be put in prism and wear glasses. They told me I would probably never come out of them but now I can go without them and if I put them on now I get sick.
After my surgery I could see far away and up close but everything in the middle was blurry, they said to
give it time and my brain might adjust but it didnt so they had to put me in them.
Without them for a long time I had horrible headaches but now I only have to wear them for short lengths of time and then can go without them for quite a while in between.
In 10 years I have only had them to change them once.
Hope this helps your wife

thanks
susan. i i wll pass this on too my wife

Hi Chip,

I had worn glasses with prisms for a long time before the AVM was removed from my neck. The surgery actually reduced the incidences of double vision that I have experienced before the surgery.

Also, I don’t wear them all the time. I wear them when I have to read. I especially don’t wear them when I drive because that seems to cause problems, especially at night. The prisms cause me to see multiple lights in the dark.

Hope things go better with the new set of glasses. Best wishes to you both.

Take care,

Debbie

thanks
