Getting this poxy AVM out of my head

Looks like I should be able to have a walk around the same day as my operation.
Do I have a angio while still in hospital, or do I go back after a week or so for this?

Maybe I missed an earlier post? What kind of operation are you having?

If embolization–Likely overnight in ICU, discharged the next day with only a few restrictions.

Radiation–Walk out that day, right after treatment.

Microsurgery/surgery–Probably a day or so in ICU, then a coupla days in a regular room, then discharge with typical surgery restrictions.

More details will yield better answers. Best wishes,
Ron, KS

Mate, thanks for that, just finding my way around this sight.
They are going to open me up, do their thing, then I recover with any luck.

Do I have an angio to see if AVM gone, or they already know because they took it out ?

It’s hard to say… It’s really up to the surgeon whether or not you will have a follow-up angiogram or if an MRI would suffice. I had three angios prior to my craniotomy, but have not had one as a follow-up. If I were to make an assumption, I’d say that you most likely will not have an angiogram following the surgery unless the surgeon has doubts as to whether or not the AVM was completely removed.
