I just had a foot embolization about 2-3 weeks ago, yesterday I went to change the bandage on the bottom of my foot, and it started to bleed fairly heavily. My question becomes does that indicate that the embolization was not a complete success and I will likely need another procedure?
That's probably something only your AVM doctor can answer. Did he or she tell you they had embolized your AVM 100%?My AVM bled everytime I changed the gauze after it had spontaneously hemorrhagedbut before it was embolized and then bled heavily right after the embol. while I was still in the operating room when they moved me off the table. There is no-stick gauze which works much better than regular gauze but any bleeding should be reported right away to your AVM doctor.
