Finally an appointment

So, it turns out that my doctor was a neurologist and not a neurosurgeon (which I already had). So my stepdad was able to figure it out and I now have a neurosurgeon named Dr. Tamargo. I even have an appointment (May 19th). I have to be honest, I am a little nervous to see what he has to say. I really want to know what treatment, if any he would suggest, but I also kind of don’t want to know. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I’m just anxious. Hopefully I’ll get good news on the 19th.

Most insurance providers will cover the cost of a second opinion for something serious, like an AVM. Let your stepdad know he should definitely get a second opinion from another neurosurgeon before proceeding with any treatment. Your first neurosurgeon will understand. Ask for his recommendation for someone to provide a second opinion.
