I have met numberous people with AVMs who also have Factor V Leiden. I understand Factor V is the most common inherited disorder of blood clotting affecting 5% of the population. It’s my understanding that my AVMs are most likely related to my blood disorder. Does anyone have Factor V and have you been told that your AVM was caused by this disorder? In one particular situation a young girl had several AVMs and I asked if she had Factor V. She had not been test and at the request of her parents was tested and found to have Factor V. She now receives treatment for her Factor V during any type of procedure for her AVMs.
