I don't know how it works in the US, but in the UK, after seeing a consultant, they write to your GP. After becoming aware about how many people's hands these letters pass through and the number of eyes that see them, I'm worried about confidentiality. Just makes me feel vulnerable and exposed because my new surgeon writes pretty much EVERYTHING I saw in these letters - down to the finest details and smallest things that I only mean for him to hear.
