Can meditation and mindfulness help heal the brain?

I found an interesting article in the Harvard Gazette about the benefits of short daily meditation on the brain; looks like there may actually be some structural changes that occur in the hippocampus from meditation.

Shirasaya, we recently formed a mindfulness group on this site for this reason. I have seen a lot of people change their outlook and reduce pain from practicing mindfulness daily. Thanks for sharing this article.
