So, long story short, I was diagnosed with pulmonary AVMs in December 2010, and had a procedure to block them off a few days later. I have since had three separate procedures in May 2011, December 2011 and April 2012. The most recent procedure was actually to block off vessels in the bronchial system.
I thought the problem had been solved, since the most recent CT scan showed only the bronchial AVMs. However, since the procedure in early April I have experienced chest pain and bloody sputum on two separate occasions - the two symptoms that alerted me to the presence of AVMs in the first place.
My question is... have any of you experienced this before with pulmonary AVMs? Is there another one developing, or could these symptoms occur due to the coils or just the body readjusting? It's very discouraging - I coughed up more blood last night than I have in a long time.
