A busy month

Had an MRI on 8/14 which showed some swelling around the AVM, which led to a couple of weeks on Darvocet and a 4 day stay in the hospital in UAB’s seizure monitoring center. No seizures observed during my stay, yay! Keeping me on a maintenance dose of Lamictal, took me off of Darvocet and put me on Nortriptyline which is an antidepressant that is also used to stop headaches before they can start, killing 2 birds w/one stone. The headaches are no longer constant and are less severe when they do happen. Saw Dr. Fisher 9/15 and got to see my MRI…the veins are already showing some occlusion!!! Next appt. in 6 mos. I felt an overwhelming sense of awe, when my neurosurgeon looked me directly in the eye and slowly said, “You are very lucky”.

Wow. That is great news. So nice to have such a positive appt., isn’t it? My son has brain swelling too.

Busy but good! No seizures and signs of getting better. I’d say it’s a good month!

Hooray!

AWESOME news Elizabeth !
