Last month I was diagnosed with a Grade 2 AVM on my right frontal lobe described as 2 cm x 2 cm and superficial (on the brain surface). It’s on my motor cortex, remains unruptured, and I am asymptomatic. It was discovered incidentally on a CT related to another issue.
Like most other newbies, I’m looking at my options: do nothing, radiosurgery, or craniotomy. I can’t imagine having a craniotomy for something that has never caused me any problems over my 42 years. I am considering radiosurgery. Posts here about Gamma and Cyber knife side effects and late effects have me very concerned.
My Rad Oncologist tells me that my hospital has a new machine (only a couple of months in use) called a TrueBeam STx. Has anyone been treated with this machine? I would love to hear about your experience. Thanks.
