AVM in Jaw

I found out in 2011 that I have an AVM in my jaw. I was having my wisdom teeth cut out and almost bled to death. I was hospitalized and they found the AVM. The AVM was embolized. I have not had any other problems other than severe jaw pain since it was embolized. but just recently I have been having heart palpitations without any good reason. Is it possible for the AVM to have grown even after being embolized or could I have another AVM somewhere else?

Danielle,

I think it could be anything. Just get the palpitations checked out.

Facial and extremity AVMs seem to be very difficult to shake off and I’ve seen several stories here of people needing further treatment on facial and extremity AVMs but I don’t know that this indicates in your case that the palpitations are related to your AVM.

The only thing I can think of is to get it checked out and make sure the doctors checking know that you’ve got an embolised AVM.
