keep fighting , Lacey
March 11 2010. After being denied by Saint Johns I started calling around again, all of the local hospitals said that they couldn't help me. A nice lady at UCI told me to apply for MSI again and that after I got a rejection letter I could try to apply for their charity program. I went to the MSI office and applied. I was heartbroke when I found out it would take 4-6 months just to get my application reviewed and get a response. I started calling around again and this time a woman at Saint Joseph's recommended I call the California assemblymen and see if there was any way to fight the decision. I called a few offices and left messages, at first I called mostly democrats. I figured they'd have more resources in this area. After Awhile I just started calling down the list. Four different people called me back. all very sympathetic and helpful. I tried a few different things they assemblymen weren't getting anywhere either. They couldn't fight the denial, so Marco a aide at speaker Bass' office after arguing with St. Johns with no sucess transferred my information to Kevin at Assemblyman Harmon's office he contacted my MSI caseworker and he had my case put on the top of the list a got a response two days later. I WAS ACCEPTED !!! I couldn't believe it. And ironically they called me bright and early to tell me. I am so relieved and so blessed Thank you to everyone who prayed for me and offered me help. You made this happen. My only reservation is that I won' be able to have Doctor Kassaam be my surgeon. He cares and I trust him, he is a wonderful person. I know god has a plan for me and everything will work out the way it should.
