Hi Guys I've just joined today for some additional support from people who are going through similar situations. I'm from the U.K and am only 20 and had my Gamma Knife Radiosurgery 18 months ago. From being diagnosed with an AVM I was put onto a very small dose of Keppra only 500mg twice daily and was seizure free for 16 months during this time I had gamma knife and had a seizure almost a year after and then another seziure 3 weeks ago.
I can understand one of my seizures as I was sick on the morning and didn't take any more medication but the seizure 3 weeks ago is really strange especially since I'd never had a seizure for all 18 years of my life before.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had an increase in seizures during the 'healing process' of the treatment while on medication?
Thanks for any help posted and will try to comment on any posts I feel I have relevant information on!

My question is if you had any kind of trauma. I was in a car accident (soft tissue damage) after many years of being seizure free. The brain is very electrical and even the most minor of trauma can bring on a seizure. But I do agree - go see the dcotor!

I suggest you get hold of you dr. You may need to try a different seizure med. My seizures got worst 2 years after my GK. I was on tegretol (200 mg time release 2 x a day)for mine. For some reason - my system changed and the tegretol stopped working for me. Instead of helping me, it made them worst.
