My Brother Carlos is currently in ICU and recovering after a successful cranioplasty today. Prior to the procedure and since the rupture, a mass of fluid accumulated over the missing cranial plate area and a progressively enlarging inflamed swelling became a concern. With the pending results from the C scan appointment scheduled for tomorrow the 8th ,the next several days will determine if/when the preventative measure (the dreaded permanent "shunt") can be laid to rest. There is a tube temporarily in place to alleviate any leakage that might occur within the area and Heaven forbid he should need the permanent version the "shunt"; tracing from the wound to the abdomen. He went into the OR in very good spirits :)! I was thankful for that. It's a blessing how he's progressed. He admits to rehab being a little bit grueling, yet I know he is a trooper and look forward to seeing him accomplishing many other milestones. I and my family are blessed to have him still in his sound mind, resting and recovering; looking forward to getting back at the rehab workouts and then eventually home soon some day.

I pray the success of this site continues to flourish and extend my gratitude offering to any member seeking information which I may be able to provide specifically relating to My Brothers' condition of what I now know and have learned. Thank you and Stay Blessed.

Your support, love and care you show to your brother is all so inspiring. Besides prayers, let me know how else I can help. May God bless you both and your family.

Below is a prayer I found for those who suffer or who are in pain. Hope it helps anyone in need of strength.

Prayer For Those with Profound Disabilities

Lord Jesus Christ,
You know the pain of brokenness, You took our weaknesses upon Your shoulders and bore it to the wood of the cross. Hear our prayers for our brothers and sisters whose bodies fail them and whose minds are crippled by the ravages of disease. Implant a love for them deep within our hearts, that we, disfigured and disabled by our sin, ma...y treasure and nuture the gifts of their lives. May we find You in their weakness, and console You in our care for them. For You are Lord, forever and ever. Amen

Stephanie,

Although oblivious to the term DVA (without me even doing research) and judging by your Praises to The Lord, I heart-fully gather this is fantastic news. I wonder what news there exists on your topic "DVA misdiagnosed as AVM?" A very genuine and good inquiry of this issue and I sincerely hope this specific topic be exposed and dissected. Stephanie, I still see your little boys' face in my mind and I smile. My Brother spoke to me and I felt him as usual. Amazing how that is. For this I am still blessed yet needless to say I will go to the ends of the earth for him and he knows it; despite of all that is happening to him and his many obstacles he is still very much aware and concern of what is going on outside the rehab walls. Give Your little JoJo a hug like Me to My little Daughter Naly and Stay Blessed.

I pray your brother finds his miracle just as my son found his!
