Last month, I went to see a new AVM neurologist and felt so confident with him that I left my old neuro. He had started me on three more prescriptions and said that he wanted to finish looking over my tests and through my reports. Then he was going to call me in for my next appointment and we'd go from there.

Three weeks later and there was no call and those prescriptions are about to run out. It's a good thing my husband is so assertive (I'm definitely not). Mike kept calling until they finally put him through.

Okay, now that I have that grumbling off my chest...LOL Dr. Singh is setting up another arteriogram. I'm glad because now we can accurately see what's going on in my head. I've been really worried about those aneurysms. On the other hand, I am not looking forward to laying still on my back for six hours! lol

Good to hear you found a new neuro doc. I'm an advocate of getting more medical opinions. Since my AVM was near my pituitary gland, I have had occasional problems with hormones and blood sugar control. I went to one endocrine expert (supposedly one of the best) who ordered MRI's and blood tests galore at hundreds of dollars a test. After a while, my insurance got fed up and stopped paying for them. He would say, "Hmmm, can't see much from this angle. Let's do it again from another angle." Aside from the expensive MRI's, I got charged $150 for 15 minutes of his time after each test. I know he's a specialist (and one of the best in his field), but come on! My family doctor and I decided for ourselves what to do next. Now my doctor has gone exclusively into academia, and I have to find a new one. Sigh. . . anyway, I pray that they find all their answers with your angio so that you don't have to do it again from "another angle". Joy's suggestion about the music was a good idea. Find out ahead of time if they'll let you listen to music. I wish they could put a TV inside the MRI machine. ;)

Great of your husband to keep calling. We all need someone like that in our corner. I'm glad too that you are getting another angio. Maybe you'll get some more answers. No, the laying on your back must not be fun...take music! Good news Connie.
