Hi, we are all so very different. I know it is hard, but try to take deep breaths and drink lots of water and let the fear and anxioty go. What you know, that so many people walking around, don't know, is that life does not happen like you…

Profile Information

Are you an AVM survivor, a relative, a friend, or a medical professional? (Required)
AVM Survivor
When did the AVM bleed or, if there was no bleed, when was the AVM first discovered?
September 1, 1972
What is the status of the AVM?
Active
How was the AVM treated?
Not Treatable
Describe the AVM (location, size) if you know it.
I have now had three CVA from the AVM. it is about the size of a quarter and sits on my speach center
Please share your AVM experience. (Discovery, symptoms, treatment, recovery)
it would take forever. Essentially I continue to deal with it. As an offset, I now have a pain condition, where my nerve endings are all mad. That is an offset of having a brain lieshion. Where mine is is terrible, as all my functions on my right side are affected. I have dystonia (involuntary body movements) on my right side. Lots more!
Would you like to recommend a surgeon, therapist, or a hospital?
I was at the University of Washington Hospital for a long time. I would generally advocate it. It was such a long time ago, and I have had two more cva (strokes, bleeds) since then. Being a teaching hospital, I think they might give you more tests than necessary - not sure!

If I listed all the things that are physically wrong, you just wouldn't believe me. - I just keep treacking - well, not so much treaking (used to treak for miles, am curently limited to two blocks, unless under water, lol) - try to laugh as much as possible. Pray a lot. Don't ask Him why, cannot immagine why! - I just keep trucking along - or sleeping, i love sleeping. I am not sick in my dreams. - V
