Hi Gay...i do get the occassional light headaches but due for a MRI in Feb next year just to make sure all is okay.....after my operations i had a CT & angiogram and all showed up that everything was removed .....cross fingers that all is okay…

What is the status of the AVM?: Obliterated

How was the AVM treated?: Crainiotomy

If treated, when was the AVM treated?: March 28, 2000

Describe the AVM (location, size) if you know it.: base of brain and bled into spinal cord don't know size

Please share your AVM experience. (Discovery, symptoms, treatment, recovery): Had strange sensation in right neck 15th dec 1999,on 17th dec 1999 whole right side intense pain,went to Bankstown Hospital,transferd to Liverpool next Day,after seven days in Hospital MRIs and Angiograms,discoverd the AVM. Neuro Surgeon Dr Mark Sheridan refered me to Professor Morgan,op on 28th March 2000 a Success,left with little use or right side,but alive and can walk and talk so am lucky

I have been put back on my anti depressants so I'm a bit peed off with myself because I so wanted to stay off them after the operation but Prof said I was getting too down and really needed to go back on them, but they aren't as strong so that is something I guess. Still have no feeling in thumb and first finger on my right hand and still swollen, so if I can get off my bum and find a good occupational therapist they can work on them and see if they can improve them or not.
What have you been up too, is every thing going good. How is your daughter and the kids?

Thank you for my birthday wishes. I had a lovely day & received heaps of messages on our AVM site as well as facebook. Spent half my day replying. It made me feel very special.
The Ginger sponge turned out just super, all my art buddies loved it. Now I have to forward my recipe on to them to try.
Just read where you have applied for a teachers aide position. That's what I did for 11 years before I retired. Absolutely loved it. I was lucky to get the job when my youngest started school (at her school) she's now 35 so that was a while ago. Off for my colonoscopy on Friday so am in the throws of my dieting, not looking forward to not eating tomorrow.
Hope you are feeling better. Best of luck with your job application, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
