I wanted to add this group because just in everyday life as spouses of AVM survivors I find that my husband will behave in certain ways. Sometimes It can make it difficult for the relationship and the family within the house hold.

So, I remember when my husband and I were first married. at the end of the day he would come home from an eight hours of working. He wasn't be very pleasant , I thought he was made at me. but there was no reason to be upset. I spoke with his mom about it and she helped me a great deal. she let me know that when he is wore out and has blood shot eyes. he will have this behavior an just know that it is not you. so just knowing this fact help me know how to look for the signs.

This is a different type of behavior than you would see with someone that had not gone through an AVM.

Do any of you see this type of behavior?

Hey Tina, my name is Dustin and my wife has about the same behavior. Most of the time hers is after seizure's, does your husband have seizure's after his operation?
Hi Dustin,

Yes. he did. the Doctor said that the reason he had seizure's was where he had been cut during the surgery. he explained it like this. that when he would get tired. it is like electricity that would try running through the area where he was cut but it wouldn't run through which would cause him to have one. so he had to be very strict and be in bed by 8:00pm.

once he started with a schedule and did what the doctor said. and the meds. were leveled out. the seizures stopped. it has been 28 yrs. but the meds that he is taking now keppra gives him mood swings. and I can normally tell when he is tired cause he goes into that nasty mood. so I try to work it out on my end. I to have been learning how to be more patient and understanding. sometimes it doesn't work so well. then later we work it out later.

how is your wife doing? at anytime don't hesitate to ask a question we have been married for 20 years. sorry late. if you ever have a question thanderson1@gmail.com

Love and God Bless
Mark and Tina
