"Pets enrich our lives!" said one AVM Survivor.
From the scaly ones to the furry ones, that goldfish in a bowl to a majestic horse, a majority of us, if not all, have at least one.
And for various reasons: a hand down from a dear friend, a guide/guard dog, therapy. I even shared a blog here about pets detecting illnesses.
So let's start sharing some: post something about your pet, a story, pictures! We love to see them!

Comment by confused66 on April 2, 2013 at 11:39am My daughters teacher was a breeder of pugs and she would watch them when he went out of town, I started going over there with her and my anxiety and pain would slowly minimize. When I explained all this to him and his wife, they gave me a key and said I could come by anytime I needed the dogs. I would just sit in there yard, it was a wonderful and beautiful garden, and with about 12 pugs all different ages. I couldn't thank them enough. I have 2 wonderful rescued cats that know when im not feeling well. They both are damaged just like me, we fit. Animals give so much.........
Comment by s.rensland on March 25, 2013 at 9:15pm My dogs know when I'm not feeling good. They comfort me when I am feeling anxious or feel that I am going to have a seizure. I have a pug and a golden retriever and I don't know what I would do without those two. They are my rays of sunshine! :)

P.S. Here's the caption for inside the card:
OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
It's not the end of the trail for me; I've just traveled on, you see, up ahead
where greener pastures grow & cool water streams dance as they flow.
Flowers in bloom of every sort kind, colors more vivid than any I left behind,
family, friends I haven't seen in years, hugs & no more tears. They've
welcomed me home here today, a place of peace for me to stay,
they say it's my home for eternity.
No it's not the end of the trail for me...

Ok, I don't want to bring anybody down but this 20 year (if you're lucky) lifespan for dogs is just cruel. I have a 17 year-old dog named Taylor (I really don't know how old she is because I adopted her and her sister at what was thought to be 8 mos.) Mini-golden retriever looking mutt mix. I took her to a vet on Tuesday for her shots and they said she was positive for heartworms. I told the neighbors (there are dogs on both sides of me) and said it was critical that their dogs were current on their heartworm preventive. She has been on a heartworm preventive all her life and had a clean test in 2011. Her and her sister has been with me through thick and thin. Sophie (her sister) died 12/24/2011 with the whole family there for Christmas. Dogs are awesome for the unconditional love and companionship they offer. She's really old (in dog years) and even the vet confirmed this. But she is still kicking. So, until her very last days I will always be there for her just like she was for me. :J

Ninibeth, Suzy & Jules,
I was laughing @ that dog/cat video last night w/ my husband, then laughed as much this a.m. when seeing it again! :)
Lisa,
One can only guess who made the mess! lol
Thanks for the laugh!
