Hi everyone. we just joined the site and are so scared and nervous for our little guy. Our son Gavin was born prematurely at 28 weeks. His PDA wasnt shunting his blood properly and from there we were diagnosed with an AVM in his brain. Monday he will be having his first procedure (angiogram with embolization). Hoping to find some support during this stressful and scary time in our lives.

Hi Gavin's mom. What a tough start your little guy has had... and tough on you and dad, too.
My daughter didn't have an angiogram, but other parents on here have had that experience. I hope you find the support you are looking for...this is a great place.

Hi! He has had a rough start but he is strong and so brave! Thank you for the support!

Hi Gavins Mom! I hope you can find the support you are looking for on this site. I know for me it has been a wealth of information and suppport. My 10 year old son was diagonosed with an AVM on his left temporal lobe in July of 2011 his has since had 2 embolization and a cranitomy and is AVM Free. His is physically doing great no deficits and is back at school as if nothing has happened. Your little guys certainly has had a rough start but he seems like a really tough little guy.
Best Wishes to you and your family

So glad your son is doing well and is AVM free! He is a tough cookie! Thank you!

Hi there. Evander is now 7 months. We are about to have embolization 3 in March. I'm glad you came across this site. It is hard to find information and support out there for this specific condition. I'm happy to talk to you. Take care and have faith!

Hi. It is very hard to find information out there. How did you guys find out about the avm? How is your little fighter doing? it would be great to chat with you about our experiences

Best of luck. You guys will be in our prayers. Lots of strength and really hoping for the best for Gavin.

Sending prayers for your little guy and you!

Welcome Gavin's Mom, to a site no one wants to be on but since we are we are here for you and each other. We are no experts but we have learned a lot in three the three months since our daughter's bleed. Feel free to ask anything. Gavin will be in our prayers as will you and your whole family.

Hi Gavin's mom. You must be worried and disbelieved. I'm glad you found this site. We are all here to support each other. I got lots of support from the site and it helped me thru the most terrible time of my life. It's a scary thing to learn your child has AVM. We discovered my son's AVM when he was 14. He had angiogram, embolization and surgery. I was so scare and worry before the surgery and you know what, now that I looked back, is not that bad. Have faith and most importantly is find the best doc for your son and trust your doctor. Leave me message any time you like to talk. Can the embolization cure his AVM? God Bless!
Lilian
