radiation is a walk in the park, especially when compared to embo(s.)
Hi Trisha! Both You and Your husband are in my prayers also for a Blessed surgery tomorrow!
Your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers, Trisha!
Hi Mon!
While I am not able to offer any inputs on a support in NYC, I can only share my AVM journey with you that sounds very similar to yours. I had my embolization back in February, 2011 which saved my life and also treated 85+% of my AVM (Blessing #1) and did proceed with radiation in June, 2011. I experienced the exact same feelings of being so fearful of the dreadful side effects of the radiation treatments that doctors MUST share with you, yet was so determined to proceed with whatever I had to so this "beast" could not bring any further harm or fear into my world. I am delighted to share with you that I did not experience one of these dreadful side effects and was told on May 4th, 2012, that my AVM had been obliterated with my embolization and the radiation treatments (Blessing #2 and many more followed thru my AVM journey :))
While that path ahead of you appears dim right now; please know that there is a beautiful rainbow and a pot of gold waiting just for YOU at the end of this trial.
Blessings to you Mon!
Michele
Mon, not sure about a support group in person in NYC, I use this site as support mostly when I need it.
Wishing you luck with your radiation therapy!

Comment by Connie T on February 7, 2013 at 6:53pm I just wanted to wish you all good luck with the snow storm/blizzard coming our way.
I don't know about the rest of you, but my headaches increase greatly in intensity with rain and snow. I don't know if it's the humidity or the air pressure, but I've got a whopper of a headache now!
