Hey Kat that is sooooo fantastic that it has all gone so well, I just knew it would!!! Mums make the most fantastic nurses don't they! My mum was amazing after my surgery too, nothing they won't do for their babies no matter how old we are!
I hope your recovery is quick and you will soon be AVM free. Thinking of you lots, am so happy this has finally happened for you after so many setbacks
Love Kylie xx

Hi ALL!!!
So surgery was yesterday morning and all a really great success, was discharged this morning so i'm all back at home now with Nurse Mama dealing my every demand (She's pretty incredible since dad is in Sydney this week). The pain isn't too bad although when the meds wear off its definitely harder. The bruise on my groin where they went into my artery is DEFINTELY bruising up very nicely!!!
BUT for the amazing news!!! My incredible surgeon Dr Brendan Buckley told me this morning before he said i could go home that we have probably closed off 60-70%!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which means there should only be around 30% of the blasted thing left! SO thats my fantastic news. i'm off to pop some more panadol as when i woke up from my nap im feeling very uncomfortable.
Lots of Love and Hugs
Kat xx

I know what you mean, people used to say to me 'well I could get hit by a bus and die it's no different!! Actually it's alot different because I too can get hit by a bus PLUS I had the time bomb in my head that could kill me at anytime, people just don't get it, and as much as you know they are just trying to help sometimes you just want to explode and tell that they have o idea of the million extra things you have to consider just to carry on with everyday life. I know how frustrating it is, it was for me before surgery and proberly even moreso now with my limitations. all I can say is I am here when you need to cry and complain about it, I will never tire of listening to it because I still feel the same O.K. Please contact me anytime you need a sholder. Thinking of you :) Kylie xx

Thanks Kylie! I have definitely been doing the crying thing on and off all day!!! had to pick my little cousin up from school so it was a good 4 hour distraction but it doesnt last. for me i'm worst when im driving in the car alone cause i think too much and just break down. it will happen eventually and all my friends and family are very supportive but its still quite frustrating at times cause even though they say they understand and its going to be ok you can't help thinking well no you don't, you don't have to worry about going out places and going somewhere for lunch and having to think about ok will the chairs be cushioned enough or will i have no cushion and will it flare up or will i be able to sit alright today. xx

Oh Kat that's awful, theres absolutely nothing worse than the waiting game, I've been there too mate 12 years I waited until they decided something could be done and then another 4 months for surgery after that. So many things run through your mind and you just want to scream and bury your head and give up. I totally reccommend the scream and having a good cry then have a drink and count your blessings that you are still here and still have hope. I know this will happen for you just like it finally did for me and I'm here for you for anything you need. Take care :) xx

Ok So got cancelled again. This time my doctor is apparently off sick for the whole week. next possible date will be the 25th of October. Yet again another afternoon of feeling helpless and tired and completely over everything.

Thanks so much Kylie. Am feeling quite positive and hopeful about this one on the 4th of Oct. If you are also ever in Auckland let me know as it would be lovely to meet a fellow kiwi and not feel so alone in this giant city!
