In the short time since i joined this site, i have noticed that some of us (meaning me!) are rather boisterous, and some of you aren't. Just about all the friends i have made on this site

have helped my healing process, or at the least helped me to adapt to my new 'normalcy'. Is there someone, or a number of someones - on here, at home, or in your workplace - who has helped you in your journey?

If your journey has only just begun, is there someone riding the storm with you now, who you would like to thank? If you long since 'completed' your journey, is there someone you would like us all to know about, who helped you heal?

I know, from talking to some of you, how tough things were before you found this site, and before this site even existed, and how things may still be difficult today.

Would you share your 'love' stories with the others in here, so we can learn from, appreciate and keep supporting each other, and our families?

Your friend,

Tony

Hi Tony,
I have a wonderful network of family & friends who have been my backbone during the past 2 years. I felt so alone a alienated when I first found out about my AVM. It took a while for me to fully understand what it was & what were the consequences. It rocked my wonderful husband of 40years, Lindsay, to the core. I was always the strong one, nothing fazed Jude, but along came an AVM & I'm no longer the strong person I thought I was. My 2 beautiful daughters have been there all the way, it has definately impacted on their lives but they stay strong for me. I am surrounded by such positive, caring people, along with all my new found AVM'ers on this wonderful site. Thanks Tony, you keep me sane, love your loudeness (as you call it) I don't call it that, it's a truly wonderful spirit you have. I am in a much more understanding place now that I can get on line & know I have only to get in touch with any number of people who have been & are going through a difficult time & it helps tremendously.
So a big thank you to everyone....I thank my family almost every day for being there & putting up with my constant mood changes, they understand.
A special thank you to Alicia, if it wasn't for her I would still be so lost & wondering why? Take care ....Hugs Jude.
Hi Tony,
Helping Hands sounds so good Tony!! My family have been my hero's. During in hospital for 3 months, (only remembering the last week of this time) my husband, daughter and sister were in every day and my husband usually at least twice a day. My daughter started a book for everyone to know how I was going as I was in a comma for 12 days, then when started I to get a little better, my sppech was just rubbish for some time. I have recently re-read this book as I couldn't read much for quite a while, I am amazed what my family had to go though. My daughter & husband, had a meeting with the rehab people and because my daughter would care for me during the days, they let me home earlier quite a while before they would have. She had me every day and look after me, even though she had a new baby 6mths before I got home. At this time, I couldn't talk much, couldn't read at all, had no idea how to cook or what food was! She put little stickers on all the things that I used, like 'moistureiser', 'toothpaste', etc as I didn't know how to do much at all. This young woman had have an emergency op when she was 20 weeks pregnant and then she just did so much for me and my husband, (still does). The people in rehab have been wonderful, so encouraging and caring. I still have a long way to go, but I have come a long way with God, family, therapy and now AVM Survivors; the sky is the limit! I thank God every day for being alive and for these wonderful people around me. If I could help someone else, I will, in any way I can. Thanks so much, Lesley.
well well now the kiwi will share her healing hands story! What can I say my mum and dad have been the most supportive people ever, I think its that love that a parent has with there child that is always there. When we found out about this thing we all felt like our lives had fallen apart, then I started doing research and found this site and without stacy and trisha and sav etc keeping my spirits high and sharing a bloody good laugh I would have maybe been more of a head case than what I am! LOL Thankyou also to my loving hubby who would truly annoy the crap out of me but he just was sooooooo worried about me. The days do become a little easier but I still watch my mum all the time watching me and it is never far from her mind the avm she just so wants it to go, so thankyou all my loving people for always making life a little easier to know that we do not stand alone in this shitty situation we are in, love to you all Janine
