Hi everyone,

I'm scheduled for surgery on February 10th with Dr. Michael Lawton at UCSF to remove my AVM in my occipital lobe. I have never had a bleed or seizures... just headaches and some vision issues. My doctor seems very confident that he can remove it successfully.

I was just wondering what people who are voluntarily getting surgery pre-bleed have gone through after surgery???

Thanks for your input!

Matt,
My daughter has an avm in her right occipical lobe about 6 cm in size. Her only symptoms were headaches and blurry vision at the time of diagnoses. She has had 4 embolizations to date with another scheduled for March 21st. So far she has been back at college within a week! I dont know exactly why her surgeon felt hers was not safe to treat with a craniotomy, however the route he has chosen to take is going well. After embos she will be treated with gamma knife. I hope this helps and you will be in my daily prayers. I will be checking in on you to see how things are foing for you! God Bless!
Lisa
