I'm a senior in High school and every senior is given a project in order to graduate. It can be over anything; my topic is over AVM. My project is to write a little book over three or five AVM survivors stories, their everyday struggles they face now that maybe they didn't before their accident like me. I already have one survivor; if you're interested in helping me out, feel free to message me! Thanks :)
Hi, My daughter is in 10th grade and she has an AVM in her brain. She is very interested in connecting with you about your project. She also has her story posted on Youtube. Please email her at soccergoofgirl@yahoo.com or facebook @ Jaclyn McDermott
Permalink Reply by DeAndra on February 10, 2012 at 10:25pm I had a hemorrhage just over a year ago due to my AVM. I was almost five months pregnant (I actually learned that I was having a boy while in the hospital following the hemorrhage). I have posted a couple of blogs talking about my day leading up to the avm and then my experiences after, my pregnancy, and the side-effects I dealt with from the AVM. I will be more than happy to give you any information that you need to write your paper. I am actually excited to know that someone out there is doing something like this to educate youth about the condition! Bravo to you and thanks! If you have any questions, or want any information, email me at dstevens86@live.com .

I'm 50 years old. I first found out about my AVM in 1991. It measured 3 cm back then and I refused treatment for it. In 2007 I started to have some problems. It was discovered that my AVM got bigger and measured 5 cm. I agreed to have the Gamma Knife. In 2010, I started to have some other problems. The dr.s aren't sure if my problems are from the AVM or from the GK. I now have two small AVMs left and I refused treatment again. I am presently disabled with: uncontrolable muscle movement disorder, uncontrollable seizures, chronic pain, cervicle dystonia, and memory loss. I think that's it. I could have forgoten something - LOL
I hope this helps you. Good Luck and I hope you get an "A". :)
Ben
