TOPIC - CHOICE MADE TO NOT HAVE CHILDREN BY PEOPLE WITH BRAIN AVMS AFTER IT HAS RUPTURED AND AFTER SURGERY.
I am interested in this complex and sensitive subject.
1.)How hard was it to make this decision?
Eg what elements of your disability came into play in your decision (eg fatigue, poor concentration, mood swings, physical problems, cognitive deficts)
2.) How much thought did you put into it?
3.) Was it an instinctive common sense decision?
4.) Did you feel at all pressurised in any way by society's pressure on all to have children?
5.) Was it a matter of your head beating your heart? Ie the reality of living with a brain injury versus the 'dream picture of a family.'
6.) Do you think society gives enough support / credit to those who don't have children? Here in the UK you get given money by the state for having kids.
7.) Do you feel your relationship is under less strain without children?
8.) How are you able to re-direct your valuable energies into other areas?
9.) What would you say are the benefits of your lifestyle choice and how have you gained?
I look forward to hearing from you and send you many thanks in advance for your time.
PM me if you like.
Best

I'm gonna put some answers then you can add yours. Make em funny.
I like animals. They are cute. And quiet.
I like spending time with kids but like giving them back.
I love my bed
I love my sleep x one thousand. Hey, I;ve just got out of it, after a 3 hour nap.
I go insane if I don't get enough rest. 'hey, billy just ignore mummy she's a bit err, tired, that's why she's behaving like a psycho at the moment,'
I love quiet time.I lock the door so people can not get in the house. There are already enough people in this here house.
I've done strain and stress, Enough of that.
My energies go all over the place out into the community, when I'm not sleeping.
Some days I don't know what day it is. 'hey little billy, can you tell mummy what day it is please? / has she locked the front door? Where's she put her handbag?' I don't think so.
I don't have an urge to go and duplicate my crazy genes. That, for me, would be, crazy. Sure I got some talents. I'm very good at sleeping.
I wouldn't want there to be someone looking a bit like me running around, I've got bad hair and am cross eyed.
