Come out on February 23rd to The Rockpile at 5555 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke, ON for my debut electric violin performance in support of AVM awareness and The Daisy Foundation. I'll be playing a solo set with an electric violin, a loop station and a dj controller. I'll also be playing a couple numbers that night with a cover band from Humber College called The Consistent Inconsistency.
The event is a talent showcase and there will be other bands playing that night at The Rockpile Bar/Nightclub which is located just west of Toronto's Kipling station.
In my set I'll be playing a musical fusion from a variety of genres including rock, dance, hip-hop, metal, jazz and classical. Artists that have inspired my set include ACDC, The Verve, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Daft Punk, Drake, Rihanna, Metallica, Apocalyptica, Vivaldi and many more.
All the profit from the tickets I sell are going to support a local family with a 15 year old daughter who has Arterovenous Malformation (AVM) of the jaw which is an uncommon lesion found mainly in children. The family wishes to remain anonymous. The condition can be fatal and the family has already raised most of the funds to cover a corrective procedure but they are still about $2000 short. Any funds raised in excess of the families fund-raising needs will go to The Daisy Foundation which supports families affected by AVM.
Tickets are $10. If you're interested in coming, would like more info, join the facebook event here
or contact me at 647 969 6815.
If you're buying tickets at the door, make sure you let them know you're there to see me :)
Here's a short clip of one of the tracks I'll be playing.
Violin Thunderstorm - Dave Kaiser, ACDC, Crookers and Daft Punk
